Rottweiler Rescue & Placement Assistance

Rottie AID is a 501C3 non-for-profit organization focusing on placement assistance, rescue, referral and education. Our primary goals include assisting Rottweiler owners with problems in keeping their dogs, whether it be housing, insurance or behavioral issues, re-homing suitable Rottweilers, foster care, and public education.
Rottie Aid is a combination of members of the Mile High Rottweiler Club as well as individuals already involved with Rottweiler Rescue. We hope to assist all Rottweiler owners and those looking to add a Rottie into their family with education, references and continued support from our knowledgeable volunteers.

About Rottie Aid Rottweiler Rescue

Rottie Aid Rottweiler Rescue was incorporated as a Colorado non-for-profit corporation by a small group of Rottweiler lovers interested in helping homeless Rottweilers.  The primary purpose of our organization is to take dogs, that pass temperament evaluations and that are in eminent danger of euthanasia, into our foster home system, work with health and training problems, and adopt them into suitable homes.  We also try to advise private owners who need help in order to keep their Rottweilers and those who need or want to re-home their dogs.  We keep a referral list of privately owned dogs needing homes.  Since any dog that comes into our system has already been failed by humans in the most basic way, we are very careful to check prospective homes thoroughly.   When one applies to adopt a dog from us, we perform multiple reference checks as well as a home check to ensure the environment and situation is appropriate to the specific dog they are interested in adopting. All family members should be in agreement about adopting a Rottweiler and all family members need to meet the dog being considered for adoption prior to placemen, as well as other dogs residing in their home.

A dog adopted from Rottie Aid Rottweiler Rescue will be spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations, and have a microchip implanted for identification.  In an unusual case where we have been unable to have one of these procedures done before adoption, the adoption agreement will require the procedure and provide for payment.  Our adoption fee of $200 helps to offset our costs.  All dogs are adopted with a 30-day trial period during which an adopter can return the dog and receive a full refund.  The adopter  must agree to return the dog to us if they cannot keep the dog for any reason at any time.  After adoption we are available to assist and advise our adoptive families in any way we can.  Obedience training is recommended, and we will help  find a qualified instructor in the adopters' area.

Minimum requirements for adopting from Rottie Aid Rottweiler Rescue are that the Adopter:

•is over 21 years of age
•has previous experience with large dogs
•has a securely fenced yard or exercise area (exceptions may be made on  a   case by case basis)
•is willing to participate in training and socialization
•is willing to provide responsible dog ownership and supervision
      •can demonstrate financial stability

We are focused on ensuring that the dogs we adopt are placed in an appropriate situation for them, their age, activity level and other physical and psychological needs. The dogs that are enrolled in our foster program are thoroughly evaluated to the best of our knowledge, and we are able to provide the prospective new owner with important information about their temperament and demeanor. We do not accept dogs with a previous bite history into our program, or ones with questionable temperaments. We encourage prospective owners to meet the dog multiple times prior to adoption, and try to do our home checks with the dog they are interested in adopting to ensure this is a compatible environment for all.
