Networking Tip #9
At business events where alcohol is served, don’t overindulge.  One or two is okay, but set a limit and stick to it.  Being drunk does not enhance your professional reputation.

Lives, works, and plays locally in Boulder with her husband and two children since 1999

Eye Exams

Dr. Jennifer Carr O.D. provides a thorough and comprehensive eye examination.  In addition to a glasses prescription, the exam will test your overall eye health.  She will test for Glaucoma, Macular degeneration, Cataracts, and many other eye diseases.  Dilation of the eyes, which allows for a more thorough look inside the eyes, is included but not required.

Contact Lens Exams
In the past few years there have been many technological advances in contact lens products.   Contact lenses have become healthier, more comfortable, and easier to care for.  New products for dryness, astigmatism and bifocal correction have allowed those who were previously poor candidates for contact lens wear, to see clearly and comfortably.  Dr. Jennifer Carr O.D. can help you find the lens type and wearing schedule to fit your needs.

LASIK

LASIK is a surgical procedure intended to reduce a person's dependency on glasses or contact lenses.  It can treat a broad range of prescriptions such as near-sightedness, far-sightedness, and astigmatism.

LASIK stands for Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis and is a procedure that permanently changes the shape of the cornea, the clear covering of the front of the eye, using an excimer laser. A knife, called a microkeratome, is used to cut a flap in the cornea. A hinge is left at one end of this flap. The flap is folded back revealing the stroma, the middlesection of the cornea. Pulses from a computer-controlled laser vaporize a portion of the stroma and the flap is replaced.

Dr. Jennifer Carr O.D. takes a conservative approach to help to determine if LASIK is a good solution for you.  She can help to refer you to an experienced surgeon and can be involved in your pre- and post-operative care.
